Do you wash your eggs?

We choose not to wash our eggs to preserve the natural protective coating, called the bloom or cuticle, which helps seal the shell and keep out bacteria. This coating helps extend freshness and is nature’s way of protecting the egg.
If an egg is visibly soiled, we gently dry-clean it by brushing or lightly buffing the surface, ensuring cleanliness while maintaining the egg’s natural barrier. Once you receive your eggs, you can refrigerate them as-is or wash just before use, if you prefer.
This method aligns with traditional, sustainable practices and allows us to offer eggs that are as fresh—and natural—as possible.
How long do eggs last?
Fresh, unwashed eggs can last 2 to 3 weeks at room temperature and up to 3 months when refrigerated.
Washed eggs can last 4-6 weeks when kept in the refrigerator.
How should I store my eggs?
Unwashed eggs are best stored at room temperature, in a cool, dry place.
Washed eggs should be stored in the refrigerator immediately after washing.
Are your eggs organic/non-GMO?
Yes! Our eggs come from hens and quail that are raised on a natural, non-GMO diet without the use of antibiotics or synthetic medications. While we are not USDA-certified organic, we follow organic and holistic practices, including:
Feeding only high-quality, non-GMO grains
Avoiding chemical additives, hormones, and medications
Prioritizing natural health through proper nutrition, space to roam, and clean living conditions

How should I wash the eggs?
We recommend only washing eggs right before use to preserve their natural protective coating (called the bloom). If you choose to wash your eggs, follow these safe handling steps:
1. Use warm water (warmer than the egg, but not hot) — this helps prevent bacteria from being pulled into the shell.
2. Gently rub with your hands or a soft cloth or brush to remove any dirt.
3. Avoid using soap or harsh chemicals.
4. Dry completely with a clean towel.
5. Refrigerate immediately after washing.
